搭火車通勤上班已經超過兩年了,時常看到許多人的手上拿本英文的雜誌在翻閱,自我英文學習似乎是種潮流。我呢,已經很久沒買書也沒買CD了,最近我手上很常握的是一本英文的雜誌,裡面有我喜歡的內容,關於葡萄酒.......Wine Spectator雜誌就是我拿在手上的書,它是大多數我翻過的葡萄酒相關英文雜誌裡面比較有內容的,Decanter可能因為廣告太多,相較之下對我就比較沒有吸引力。若有機會,我試著把我看到的記錄下來跟大家分享好了。先來篇有關葡萄酒包裝的消息好了!

" As wineries and consumers look beyond corks and bottles for more convenient packaging that better preserves wine, there's been a boom in a surprising alternative: Tetra Pak cartons. .... U. S. sales of wine in cartons leapt from zero in March 2004 to $4 million in March 2006, reported ACNielsen. ...... A French wine company, too, has gotten in on the action. Boiset introduced the French Robbit line, in 1-liter Tetra Prismas, across the United States in February. The vintage-dated varietals, priced at $10, include Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, all from the Vin de Pay d'Oc. .... The user-friendly French Rabbit cartons are closed with an easy-to-open, resealable plastic cap, which eliminates the problem of cork taint....."

這樣的包裝我最初是在澳洲看到,覺得用大公升包裝很有趣,辦派對時很適用,去店裡拎著就走,有的還有設計那種壓環,像水龍頭一樣。在美國時我也看過類似的包裝,不過是更小的1公升細長型,很像常見的果汁飲料包裝。然而我只在澳洲喝過這樣的包裝,就很一般、屬於那種可以每天日常飲用酒款的口感。雖然說這文章最後寫到 "The containers are also designed to extend the life of the wine, be taken places where glass isn't appropriate and reduce packaging waste." 我還是覺得喝葡萄酒就是要有那開軟木塞的過程,才比較有感覺自己在喝葡萄酒。
